Hijiki Stir Fry

I don't know where to buy Hijiki and to save time and money i'll just adapt the stir fry.

Here's the recipe:

Hijiki Stir Fry
1/2 c hijiki
1 tbps
sesame oil
2 cloves garlic minced
1 tbsp grated ginger
1/2 c. onion
1/2 c. celery
1 cup carrots
1 cup broccoli, broken into florets
juice from 1/2 lemon
1 tbsp tamari
1/4 c. purified water
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp mirim (cooking sake)
1 tbsp sesame seeds to garnish

rinse and soak hijiki.
heat the oil in a wok. add garlic, ginger, onion. saute until onions are translucent. add hijiki, carrots, broccoli etc and saute.

mix lemon juice, tamari, water all liquids.....add to stir fry. simmer and cover for 5 min.


I love Stir Fry but may have to adapt. I bought Sushi Rolls with Tuna for my dinner tonight.

Tahini Shake

1 tbsp tahini
1 tsp honey
1 c. sesame seed milk

blend in a blender.
I'll add the closing words, alternative shortened cleanses later.

Day 10, 11, 12

Hi you two.

I am noticing that i am technically writing for days 10, 11 and 12. This week got a little fuzzy blurring the days together. I've spent 4 days on the first phase and will spend 4 on the last phase and spent 3 days on the deep cleanse ending (for me) today.

When I was only taking in liquid I felt a lot lighter and actually not as hungry as I'd thought. I ate at mealtime and snacked on nuts. The book talks about having a lot of energy in this middle phase and i really noticed that!

Integration Phase

drink the apple cider vinegar drink before the mid-day meal protein reintroduction. Cellulite reduction recipes will be used through this phase. feeling good and the book recommends a massage at the end of this. not sure if it's my budget but would be a great thing at this point.

Day 10 (beginning of the third and last phase)

Hot Water Lemon Flush in the a.m.
Inner Beauty Tea Hot Shower
Freah Air Bath, basically going outside in a towel after your shower. Probably not happening over here.

breakfast watermelon
snack protein shake
lunch super salad

Afternoon:
shop, buy ingredients for new batch of potassium broth, fruits, nuts and proteins (chicken, tofu, fish)
She talks about positive attitudes in this section. She suggests journaling some positive affirmations about this cleanse. think in terms of qualities of challenge, commitment and control.


Day 11

Hot Water Lemon Flush in the a.m.
Inner Beauty Tea hot and cold Shower

breakfast papaya

mid morning snack carrot shake (Vruit for me)

lunch super salad

dinner Hijiki stir fry with Potassium Broth (as much as you want)

I will type in the recipe in a separate post after i find out where to buy it or what to supplement with if i can't find.

Bath and breathing exercises at night.

hot water flush
inner beauty tea

breakfast apples

a.m. snack protein drink

lunch fish, chicken or tofu with steamed or raw vegetables
dinner vegetable bisque or broth. brisk walk 30 min. soak feet.

ending.....
calming yoga poses for stress reduction......

fish, shoulderstand, plough, seated toe-pull (seated forward bend). never do an inversion when you have your period.

i will write more about this as I process and decide what i can take from it. I know the eating habits are a good thing to change. i love the fruit breakfast. I feel like i've had healthy food choices over the past two weeks. not perfect but also real. allowing myself to break the rejuvenate regimen but also noticing how my body feels when i eat things not on the list....i know my body reacted to negatively to meatballs on sunday night!!

Three Days of Deep Cleanse

Monday Day 1 of Deep Cleanse
(Sorry you are getting this late girls.)


Upon Awakening:
Drink the Hydrating Drink (see Kathy's recipe) (2 oz. of apple juice/6 oz. of water)

Breakfast:
Liver Flush #1
*juice of 1-2 lemons
*juice of 1 orange (freshly squeezed)
*1 tsp. of fresh ginger
*pinch of cayenne pepper
*1-3 cloves of garlic
*1 Tbsp. safflower oil
* 1 Tbsp. olive oil
~ do not eat for 2 hours after drinking

Drink tea throughout the morning

Lunch:
Super Salad-lots of raw veggies and an all-natural dressing or olive oil and lemon

Dinner:
Raw Veggie Delight
2 1/2 c. of tomatoes, chopped
2 cloves of minced garlic
4 c. of onion, chopped
2 cucumbers, peeled and sliced
2 yellow squash, chopped
2 zucchini, chopped
2 c. celery, diced
4 c. red bell peppers, diced
1 ear corn
4 tsp. sea salt
1 Tbsp. umeboshi vinegar
1 Tbsp. dried dill or 2 Tbsp. fresh dill

* Cut the corn off the cob and combine it with all the other ingredients in a blender...puree the mixture and pour into a serving bowl
* Garnish the dish with thin slices of cucumber and dill

Tuesday: day 2 of Deep Cleanse

Upon Awakening:
Drink 8 oz. of Hydrating drink (see Monday)

Breakfast:
Liver Flush #2
it's the same as Liver Flush #1 except you put in one cup of the Apple juice instead of the orange juice and the juice of 2 lemons instead of one lemon

Drink Carrot juice of Vruit for a mid-morning snack

Lunch:
Super Salad again

Dinner:
Raw Vegetable "Cream" Soup
(I may substitute a sweet potato bisque with some avocado instead.)

* 1 1/2 c. of carrots, chopped
* 2 cloves of minced garlic
*1 c. alfalfa sprouts
*1 Tbsp. olive oil
*1 Tbsp. Herbamare (seasoning found in health food stores)
*2 c. Potassium Broth
*1 avocado, diced
*pinch of nori flakes as a garnish

Wednesday: Day 3 Last Day of Deep Cleanse

Upon Awakening:

Ok Jessi if you want to put up the deep cleanse recipes great if not please feel free to call me or bring the book over. I have time to do it tomorrow.

back after some broth and really the popcorn and a few M & Ms that i snuck really affected me. it's amazing with a short time how much change I feel. I really like the potassium broth and need to either remake for this week or supplement. and Anna I mentioned to Jessi that i do my carrot juice not from the recipe but I just buy Vruit......in the sake of time!

ok let's plot out the week! I like the routine and an ok saying sorry i'm not eating that but thanks! but i can't help sneaking a little cheese.,,,,the bread...cheese.....p butter toast and the mexican food......i can't wait to go to chipoltle in the next few weeks.
but really it feels good so thank you both!

Sun, deep cleanse?

First, Welcome Jessi!! I'm glad to see you on the blog!!

Yeah I've been doing the best I can too :) I've been having an apple for breakfast, sometimes some Naked juice, then grilled chicken salad for lunch, and a bisque for dinner. I haven't been doing the baths, but I sort of wish I was because I bet they are nice. I usually do at least 30 at the gym each day, which is great.

I have so much more energy now, and I don't even drink coffee now. I'm sure once this is over I'll want to have some more though because I just LOVE the flavor way too much.

Kathy, so were you thinking we'll do the deep cleansing Sun, Mon, Tues? I think that sounds great. I'll plan on starting that tomorrow, yikes!

Hi you guys! Thanks for posting Jessi and Anna! I feel good today. Have more energy than normal and i told Jessi this but when i drink tea in place of coffee....i still have one good cup of coffee....but i can't take more than that. i've weaned a bit from it and then felt more zingy after i cup of coffee.....so that's good to get less coffee in me and more of the tea.
I am alternating between green tea and the inner beauty. i like them both cold better. Had a salad for dinner with the broth and a salad for lunch today.....( the Brueggers sesame chicken asian).....but i'm missing peanut butter toast! that's what i miss most.
I'm going to try to stick it out for the next week and hope to be done by next weekend.

I love the bath before bed. and i love the one glass of wine limit....self impossed....but for me i could drink more but i haven't been!
and then what I remember most from previous cleanses is just that i feel lighter and i feel less sick in my stomach after eating certain foods. i'm going to try to stick with the food combinations the book suggests.
I'm also doing yoga at least 20 min a day here and trying to walk.
Have had good night's sleeps other than the late one last night due to mtka hockey.
i love the support from hearing your thoughts!! a few days of deep cleanse and we'll be done and feeling good! adn my skin feels better.....?? how about you?

Hi ladies,
I am sorry that I haven't posted yet...I just figured out how to do it. I've been feeling good and waking up every morning SO hungry. Surprisingly though, I haven't been as hungry in the evenings when I would normally eat a snack right before bed-usually M&Ms :-). This morning, I did the Lemon Flush which I wasn't so good about doing the last couple of days with being in a rush for work. I also did a run for about 45 minutes. I had some Steel-Cut oatmeal and fruit for breakfast. For lunch, I've been eating salads, the bisque and almonds. I've also really enjoyed carrots and hummus for a snack. I'll get back on this afternoon and post the next three days if you'd like Kathy. Otherwise I can get the book back to you.

P.S. I'm all about doing the deep cleanse for only three days.

Friday :)

Hi all,

Thanks for the updates Kathy. Today has been the tough day....I think because I'm home, so I don't have all the distractions of work. My roommate had this amazing white bread, and I did cave and eat a little bit. whoops!

Oh well, yeah I've been pretty good about it thus far. I'm planning on making the yam or carrot bisque tonight. Might be kinda good.

Doing just the deep cleanse for 2-3 days sounds just fine with me.

Looking forward to getting the plan for this weekend. Thanks so much for uploading all our days Kathy.

today

Hi you guys....

How are you? Yesterday was really hard! I woke up really hungry and ate a ton of pineapple slices did the flush did about 15 min yoga.

i was really slow low energy most of the day. I ate salmon for lunch and munched on carrots. did the tea and i need to make more. I was still hungry later in the day and munched on cashews......

for dinner the broth really filled me up. I ate a tiny bit of pasta with that.

Let me know how it's going!

I will add the weekend recipes later......Jessi let me know what you think from looking it over....
It will be next the deep cleanse then the reintroduction of foods and finish by FRI or SAT next week. I am thinking that we only do 2-3 days of the deep cleanse? maybe SUN, MON, TUE then start back into foods WED etc.

What do you both think?

yams

By the time I bought yams....according to the Trader Joe's staff the same as sweet potatoes....I will investigate the truth in this......but when I got home I was really starving and not patient enough to make the Yam Delight. So i made a huge green salad with peppers onion garlic salt pepper and a dash of parmesan....cheese my favorite!....did a 30 min walk with Zoe and Sadie in the stroller......going are we going to see Jessi yet?

Yam Delight

2 yams
1 onion
1 tsp olive oil

same as the Yam Delight but with squash and the recipe called for miso and granulated lecithin which in the sake of time and money I may forego.....

bisque is cauliflower (not my favorite)

and the bath is a Hot Foot Soak Treatment

I didn't write as much as i'd thought over my lunch hour. Lunch was good though, tuna, carrots and a protein drink that i still haven't had yet.

the bath soothes me and knocked me out last night! i've tried to be good about the yoga at least every other dya for about 30 min.

i made the tea and am chilling it.
I just put a pinch of the cayenne pepper and then gradually add more as time goes on. I'll add more recipes and the next days later. Anna I like your idea of 5 days instead of 7 so we'll do 15 not 14 if that's ok. we'll see how this goes! no pressure. I love the lemon flush and did 30 min of yoga. missed the shower though. i can't do it 100% but i'll try to do as much as possible. I'm drinking green tea and will make the other tea cold i think it'll taste better. yeah to all of us for trying this!!

Day 1 Monday March 8th
Clean out the kitchen! Buy your food and mentally prepare for the next two weeks.

Evening:

stress relieving yoga........
5 sun salutations, child's pose, resting pose with tense and release exercises

stress relieving bath......
essential oils, rosemary, chamomile

Day 2 Tuesday March 9th

Morning Cleanse

warm shower, loofa, follow with 15 seconds cool water.

Food and Beverage Preparation

prepare and drink hot water flush
prepare and drink inner beauty tea throughout the day
other hydrating drinks

Dinner:
non protein dinner. potassium broth as much as you want.combine with pasta or potatoes and salad or vegetables

Exercise:

brisk walk for 30 min. pay attention to your surroundings and breathing

Review your goals,
inspiration bath......rosemary, lavender, or sage

Day 3 Wednesday March 10th

Morning:

Hot water flush in a.m.
Shower with loofa ending with 30 seconds cool water.

Breakfast:

Apples "an apple a day"

Mid-Morning Snack:

protein drink, I am buying one pre-made, Naked has good choices

Lunch:

fish, chicken or tofu with steamed or raw veggies

Dinner:

Yam Delight (i will add to the other recipes)
Super Salad


Excercise:
30 min brisk walk, steady pace,

Evening:
facial clease, bath
Potassium Broth

14 carrots with tops
14 celery stalks with tops
beet tops
4 potatoes
2 onions
4 garlic cloves
3 zucchini
2 handfuls of parsley

chop all the veggies, place them in water, soup pot and boil. Turn the heat down and simmer for 30 min. remove and discard greens from the pot. the nutrients are now in the broth. remove the rest of the veggies and blend/puree/ into a bisque. ad a little broth to the bisque puree until it is the consistency you like. store this in your refrigerator. save the clear broth to add to soups.

variety:
I don't use celery because I don't like it :) and i am trying beets but didn't before.
i just use a blender and more garlic or onion for flavor.



Ionic Cocktail

emergen C and water
aloe vera juice

Rejuvelac

1 c. barley/millet
1 q. water

soak grain in water for 24 hours
pour off the water and refrigerate to drink
Recipes:
Hot Lemon Water Flush

8 oz water
juice of 1/2 lemon
pinch of cayenne pepper

Drink first thing in the morning. Flushes kidneys, liver, colon. You may increase the amount of cayenne pepper each day. Lemon juice breaks up mucus deposits, enzymes and vitamin C are natural cleansers.

Inner Beauty Herbal Tea

1 c. dried peppermint
1/2 c. dried oat straw
1/2 c. dried sage
1/2 c. dried alfalfa

Most of these i found in the bulk herbal section of the co-op. Not expensive but i didn't get the entire amount and will buy more if i need to. combine these herbs and store in an airtight container.
either steep in hot tea or make and drink cold. peppermint is good for digestion. oat straw is rich in silica good for teeth, hair, skin and nails. oat straw is also good for chest ailments. sage is an antismasmodic which helps eliminate mucus in the respiratory and stomach.

Hydrating Drink

6 oz water
2 oz apple juice

or water and maple syrup

to drink throughout the day. i also drank a lot of cold green tea.

Next: Potassium Broth and plan for the first few days.
going to the co-op to get the herbs and fresh veggies......
